  10. hey
    where is the 2004?
    can’t see >_>

nice work, i will make it as my list, i will put an x to the one i have watch

  11. Love the 2003 chart. Just curious though, why is Tsukihime there? I don’t recall it ever having an anime.

  12. 2003 is my most expensive year so far, I saw 15 series and bought 6. Thanks for the list, if you have nothing better to do, you could take it back to OVA revolution of the 80s. Just kidding, that would be a gargantuan task and you are doing enough already.

  13. Good work!

but in 2003 chart Tsukihime Lunar legend don`t have picture.
    can u add it there?

(or its some kind of joke?)

  14. wow nostaglia. thanks for your work as always

  15. I like the picture for the Tsukihime anime. ^_^

  16. Would also really love to see 2003.

  17. FAG, below i mean

  18. i humbly requested the missing 2003-2004 chartfag

also sry IF this made a double request, just don`t have time to read the post above

  19. These would be great b’day presents for an otaku…
    Bet ya can’t do 1956!!

    Nice work.

  20. This is great, thanks. I really appreciate you taking the time to encapsulate the previous years into easy reference form.

Look forward to the series releases for the charts.

  21. Just a quick reccomendation: For the series that air in the winter just before the new year begins, I think they would be better placed in the next years winter season. I know they don’t technically belong to that year but people consider them to have aired in that season and therefore that year.

    • I considered this, but it’s a bit late to stop now – consistency is a bit more important at this stage. For some years, it’s not a problem, others a bit more jarring.

  22. Great charts there dude, just a question, is there a reason why the format has changed for the 2002 chart? I quite liked the color behind the name format.

  23. These charts are amazing! Can’t wait to see all the others done ^_^” oh the memories.

  24. can’t wait for you to make 2002 2003 2004 2005 2006 and 2007!!!

  25. Cool list, but being the picky person I am, I feel I need to nitpick something. In the 2000 chart, the image used for Ojamajo Doremi # is actually that of Ojamajo Doremi Na-i-sho, which is a couple years later, and in the 2001 chart, the image used for Mo~tto! Ojamajo Doremi is that of Ojamajo Doremi DOKKA~N!, which would be in 2002. Other than that, great job. If only stuff like this was made for domestic animation and/or shows.

  26. Good work!
I just started following the seasons in 2004. But this is good when i dont have enough new anime to watch. Make easy to find old stuff to see.

  27. nice and helpful job, it’s my reference for downloading. looking forward to 2006 chart, the best year of anime series and the most prolific in this decade.

hope you don’t get tired of this, thx chartfag

  28. Hi. Thanks for these awesome charts.

Will you make 2008 and 2009 too?

  29. thank you ^^ 2001’s anime was just great!!

  30. What’s shocking is how few series from 2001 were good enough to be remembered today.

Then again, I doubt most series from this year will be worthy of mention in even 5 years’ time.

    • I guess it’s our duty to remember the good ones.

I’ll be recommending Baccano for years to come, anyway.

  31. wow man! love all your work and effort
    thanks for doing this =D

  32. agree with the others that was a nice and convenient idea for all anime fans out there, I’ll support your idea either.

I will expecting and anticipate more from you ~tnx a bunch

  35. Would you mind making a 2008 summary as well? (And possibly later, 2009) To be able to look back at the year as a whole :).

  36. Vandread, Agentosoma, NieA_7

    oh wow, good times

though I didn’t get into anime until 2001. But then I am always anywhere between two seasons to two years behind

  37. wow, that chart brings back some good old memories

  38. good work
